Is Leaky Gut Syndrome Causing Your Food Allergies?

Allergies occur due to overreactions by the immune system. If an individual suffers an allergy, his or her immune system identifies dust, pollen, or otherwise harmless substances as threats. As a result, the body releases histamine to attack the substance and limit its damage.

Histamine is a chemical found in various body cells that causes a runny nose, sneezing, puffy, itchy eyes, or other allergic symptoms.
