With the Summer Olympics in Rio just a couple months away, the world is anxiously holding its breath to see how Brazil will handle the various controversies and problems it’s up against. According to Harvard scientists, the Zika virus, in particular, could spark, “a full-blown health disaster.”
For the past year, we’ve been hearing news reports linking the Zika virus to microcephaly—a birth defect that causes a babies head to be smaller than normal. However, only recently have studies offered proof showing the Zika virus responsible for stunting brain development.
The threat of a global outbreak of the Zika virus has scientists whirling racing to find a vaccine, but that could be, at best, on to two years away, and in the meantime, the Olympic games are fast approaching.
According to Dr. Amir Attaran in the Harvard Public Health Review, “an estimated 500,000 foreign tourists [will] flock into Rio for the Games, potentially [become] infected, and [return] to their homes where both local Aedes mosquitoes and sexual transmission can establish new outbreaks.
”So how can women of childbearing age protect themselves from the inevitable spread of the Zika virus, if a vaccine is years away?
Colostrum-LD is a natural supplement, which can be taken to help prevent the Zika virus from affecting any planned or unplanned pregnancy. Fresh, raw colostrum is, in fact, the first choice as an antibacterial and anti-viral in many less-developed countries today.
How does Colostrum work?
The PRPs (proline-rich polypeptides) in bovine colostrum stimulate the immune system to fight viruses (e.g., influenza, HIV, herpes, Zika). They are what we call “educational molecules.” Essentially, PRPs work similarly to vaccines by stimulating the body to produce antibodies against pathogens. However, unlike the flu vaccine, PRPs are not specific to any individual virus, and they are particularly helpful as virus begin mutating. In other words, Colostrum-LD can help with all viruses, even as they evolve, which promotes an overall health and wellbeing. In addition, the PRPs instruct the body to begin producing antibodies within 24 hours of being exposed to a virus, whereas the flu vaccine takes between 10 and 14 days to become fully effective.
Colostrum has proven time and again to help stave off viruses and bacterial infections. Preparing yourself for a global outbreak of the Zika virus couldn’t hurt, and taking a natural supplement like colostrum can only offer increased protection and peace of mind.
