Immune resilience plays a key role in the body’s ability to perform optimally, and as such, must be prioritized. At the same time,immune system patterns can become predictable and habitual; much in the same way it is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks, it is challenging for people to change the behaviors associated with their molecular patterns. If people develop healthy habits, however, they can build a resilient immune system and continuously enhance it.
2. How the Immune System Can Become Compromised
An immune system becomes compromised for a variety of reasons. For example, people who smoke, fail to get sufficient sleep, constantly deal with uncontrollable stress, and experience various health issues are more susceptible than others to immune system issues.
To prevent an immune system from becoming compromised or to alleviate the symptoms of a compromised immune system, the Sherwoods recommend practicing a healthy diet. A diet rich in foods that contain nutrients, vitamins, and minerals can help people feel great, due to the fact that these foods support the immune system. Also, people should try to avoid sugars, fried foods, and other processed foods, since these foods can hinder the immune system’s performance.

People who can identify the signs of immune resilience can evaluate the state of their immune system. Ultimately, if a person feels good, their immune system is likely performing as it should. On the other hand, if a person feels exhausted, their immune system may be compromised. And in this instance, additional steps may be required to improve immune resilience.
