Colostrum is the yellowish substance secreted by female mammals (including humans) immediately after the birth of their newborns. It is sometimes called “pre-milk,” but this nutritious substance is considered separate from true breast milk. All mammalian mothers produce colostrum, so its commonly is referred to as “life's first food.” New mothers secrete colostrum for approximately 72 hours after giving birth, after which the colostrum production tapers off and regular milk production increases.
Bovine (cow) colostrum is not the same as cow’s milk. Colostrum is produced for approximately 72 hours, but the colostrum used in supplements is traditionally taken from the first milking only, after the calf has drunk its fill. It is considered a dietary supplement because of its many health benefits to humans which include, immune support, gut health, joint and muscle support, skin, hair, and nail benefits (plus more). Because dairy cows produce an excess of 8 liters of colostrum, which the calves will not use, the extra can be used for supplements. Bovine colostrum is biologically transferrable to other mammals, including humans. Can you eat this if you're allergic to dairy?
Best Answer: If you have a milk or casein allergy we don't recommend you take Colostrum-LD, but if you have lactose sensitivity most can take Colostrum-LD. We do recommend consulting with your healthcare practitioner prior to taking any new supplement.

What dose for a 2.5 year old please?
Best Answer: Mix colostrum in 4 ounces freshly purified water (not bottled water), formula, or filtered apple juice and provide twice a day. If solid foods are appropriate, add colostrum to yogurt, applesauce, or vegetable puree. Upon taking colostrum for the first time, some infants experience mild sensitivity which may result in changes to stool color or consistency (loose stools or diarrhea). This is a normal reaction, so begin with ¼ teaspoon for the first few feedings and gradually increase to ½ teaspoon. If symptoms persist, contact your pediatrician for further advice.

Love the Product, Not the Packaging
Love the product, but the packaging is not great. After opening the velcro-like fastener top it gets the powder in it and will not close securely. Also hard to dip down in the bag and use to the last drop. A plastic cylinder would be much more convenient. In fact, I pour out the powder into a cylinder I bought earlier from another brand and is much easier to use but a pain to transfer.

I love your product but hate your packaging. I would think by now you would have switched to some kind of hard cylinder with a screw-top lid which is easier to use. I spill so much out of those bags and after using a bit, the bags won't close and seal properly.
